Brandon Teena
After watching 'Boys Don't Cry', I always said I would build a website as a memorial to Brandon Teena/Teena
Brandon. However, when I built this one, I decided that I wanted to do an e-zine. But I didn't forget about Brandon. This
will be my tribute page to him. And I'm also working on a second website that will be just Brandon. As soon as it is finished,
I will have a link to it.

On December 12, 1972, Joann Brandon went into her fourth false labor when it was decided that the labor should be induced.
That day she gave birth to a dark haired girl named Teena. Teena grew up without a father because her father was killed in
a car accident. When Teena was 22 months, her mother wed a second husband named "Jug". However, that marriage failed and Teena
was upset at Jug not being her real father.

Eventually Teena changed. School became a joke for Teena and she began stealing and forging checks. She became more masculine
and when she was 18, she went on a date as Billy Branson. She began dating Heather under the name of Billy. However, all of
Brandon's lies started to catch up with him and he and Heather broke up when Heather found out that he was really a she.

Teena was forced to attend counseling where it came out that she had been molested when she was younger. Her mother blamed
this event on her being a lesbian. But Brandon was adamant that he was not a lesbian - he was a man trapped in Teena's body.
Brandon met and began seriously dating a girl named Gina Bartu. The couple got engaged. However, eventually Gina
found out Brandon's true identity. When Brandon never went and got a sex change like he promised, the couple split. Brandon
tried to get Gina back but his efforts failed. That's when he went to Falls City and the disaster began.

Brandon first laid eyes on Lana Tisdel at a karaoke bar a week before his 21st birthday. He followed her from the
bar and asked her out. The two began seeing eachother and Brandon became friends with John Lotter and Tom Niessan - two men
that Lana had been with before and still remained close to. Two days after Brandon's birthday he failed to attend court and
was arrested. When Lana found out he was in a women's jail, she became upset. Brandon told her that he was a hermaphrodite
and that he was planning to have a sex change. Lana accepted the story because she wanted it to be true. Brandon got out of
jail and Lana's mother wouldn't allow the two to be together. Lana told her mother that she would be with Brandon
if she wanted and that Brandon was a male.
John Lotter and Tom Niessan were enraged when they found out Brandon was a girl. They stripped him in the bathroom and made
Lana look and tell them that Brandon was a girl. Later that night, the two men raped Brandon and beat him badly. They
told Brandon if he told they would kill him. Lana begged Brandon to go to the police and he did. However the police did
nothing.
On December 31st, in the early morning, Tom and John went to Lisa Lambert's house where Brandon was staying. They found
Brandon hiding under a blanket at the foot of the bed. Brandon was shot twice in the head and stabbed to 'make sure he was
dead.' Lisa Lambert was shot in the chest and in the eye. Another man in house, Philip Devine was shot twice also. The only
survivor was Lisa Lambert's infant child, who was left crying in the crib.
This was just a long story short. There was lots of information left out, but I will have the full
story on my website for Brandon.
